- INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 cup of quick oats
- 3/4 cup of almond butter or peanut butter (you can use creamy or crunchy)
- 1/2 cup of honey or agave
- 1 cup of trail mix (I used one with almonds and dark chocolate)
- DIRECTIONS:
- Warm up the honey and nut butter in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir (if still solid, warm up for an additional 30 seconds)
- Combine your oats and trail mix, and then add in the warmed honey and nut butter.
- Stir until all the oats coated
- Place the oats on a baking sheet and press down (you can also make in a tupperware if you don’t have a baking sheet
- Place in fridge or freezer for 20-30 min
- Cut and enjoy!
- TIPS: I used a cup of trail mix because it was simple and I didn’t have to buy multiple ingredients. If you wanted, you could add a cup of almonds instead of trail mix! Also additional add-ins could be dried raisins, cranberries, or anything else you love in granola! If you are using crunchy nut butter, you may need more for than mixture than a creamy nut butter (see Cons)!
- Pros: These are simple and easy. You can make these any way you like them! I have eaten them in yogurt or on their own. They are a great snack!
- Cons: These guys are a little crumbly sometimes. Add in additional nut butter and honey if you find they are crumbling on you. These take a little more work than buying a pack of granola bars at the grocery, but I like these because I can make them personalized!
